Migraines Hypnosis is commonly used to help people reduce the occurrence of migraines. Always check with your doctor to ascertain your migraines do not have an organic cause. Migraines and/or persistent bad headaches that are stress-induced respond remarkably well to hypnotherapy. I have had clients whose bad headaches/migraines stop after a single hypnosis session. The most important thing is that clients tell me all the details they can about the migraines and their personal history. Visualisation techniques can be employed in hypnosis to induce processes which are apparently healing. Everyone is different, but clients have spontaneously visualised bright lights or whiteness whilst in hypnosis, sometimes over or in the region where the headaches have persistently occurred. Other people see themselves doing activities or experience strange visions. Some people see no images in hypnosis. This is also common, and seems to have little or no bearing on the success of the outcome. Most of all it is important not to try to make it work. Instead allow yourself to remain open to the possibility that it could help you: want, expect and allow it to happen. |
