Stopping smoking

If you want to stop smoking, hypnotherapy is marvelously effective. The main ingredient is that you must want to stop smoking.

Basically, hypnosis supports you in the attainment of your goal. If you want the goal badly enough, you will get there!

There are several methods for supporting people as they quit. The way I work, the norm is one, single session. In this session, I take a complete medical and psychological history and ascertain exactly where you are with your decision. I conduct a full hypnotic session and I make you a tape to take away with you, together with written information to remind you of all the benefits you have already gained (and that you will continue to gain as time goes on) through having stopped.

It?s often significant if clients can say, I am a non-smoker? at some point during this session. Its surprising how many people struggle getting this sentence out. They dont always manage it. However, if they are convinced that this is what they want I reinforce this desire in hypnosis, reminding them of their strength (i.e. they made the phone call in the first place, they then turned up for the appointment; these are all pieces of evidence that they want to stop, really want to stop).

Everyone is different and together we work out a way to deal with forthcoming challenging situations that might arise (down the pub, after a meal, someone offers you a cigarette etc.). I consider it unwise to make promises about success rates, but Ive had a lot of positive feedback and recommendations. You really have nothing to lose, and a great deal to gain.

Occasionally a further session is needed and this is arranged between us as necessary.
